The colorful blue rice is colored with the natural blue color of butterfly pea. Black color express Kurokabe (black wall) and Cafe name 96 (96=kuro=black). It became a surprising BIWAKO black curry. The strong impact of blue and black color is well accepted because it looks good on Instagram. “I hope this curry will be one of the fun memories for the customers who came to Kurokabe,” says the store manager, Satsuki Nakajima. Carrots are floating in the black curry as the image of Biwa trout. The curry is based on 96CAFE’s original curry and is blackened with squid ink paste. It’s a little spicy, but very popular because of rich and very delicious taste.

The drink menu also includes herbal tea and blue latte using butterfly pea. They are available for take-out. The takeout of BIWAKO black curry is also being considered for near future.
