BIWAKO BLUE Tote Bag
There are two types of tote bags, men’s and ladies’, manufactured using Omi beef skin from Okaki’s own ranch. A cowhide made by a method called tanning using plant-derived tannins and Takashima canvas are used for Tote Bag. The bag is manufactured by Mr. Hideki Tanaka of Cogocoro, which manufactures and sells leather products in Omihachiman City. A tote bag unique to Shiga Prefecture has been completed by using Omi beef leather and dyeing it in Lake Biwa color,
Okaki is working for the “Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” advocated by the United Nations by making the best use of it, not just as meat. Since the tote bag has pockets on the inside and sides, it is also convenient to carry smartphones and small items. In addition to the softness of leather and the toughness of canvas, which are the characteristics of Omi beef, the blue color that imaged Lake Biwa is popular for its beautiful blue color. It is also chosen as an return item for hometown tax payment. “The more you use leather products, the more you will get used to them. It would be great if you could get to know the charm of Omi beef not only in food but also in whole. I hope it can be established as a new regional brand …”, said President Mr. Kazuhiro Okayama.
This bag is available to purchase at Okaki Main Store or Cogocoro. Also, it is available to purchase from the websites of both companies.
